Every person is different, with different cultural and social values. At the FLY House, we are mindful of those differences, treating each person with dignity and respect and promoting their capacity and opportunity to address their own needs and improve their situations. We are cognizant of our duties to our youth, their families, and society as a whole and seek solutions that best meet the needs of all involved.

We do not have to look far to be reminded of both the promise and vulnerability of our youth. At the FLY House, we believe it is essential that under-served and disadvantaged youth are afforded the same opportunities and experiences as more affluent youth. The challenge is not merely one of resources but also identifying what skills youth lack. Addressing social ills and helping our youth succeed in life is a primary goal here at the FLY House. Service is the value from which all our values stem. We regularly elevate the needs of others above our interests and use our skills and knowledge (from education and experience) not to try to change our youths' risk factors but to empower them with the abilities to overcome them.

We connect our youth and families who need assistance with organizations and individuals who can provide the appropriate help. We recognize that facilitating human relationships can be a useful vehicle for creating change, and excel at engaging potential partners who can create, maintain, and enhance the well-being of our youth and families.

To facilitate these relationships and improve others’ lives, here at the FLY House, we always strive to exhibit trustworthiness. All employees – rather, they are social workers or not – are trained on social work core ethics and values by a licensed social worker. Each staff member must be continually aware of the profession’s mission, values, and ethical principles and standards, and set an excellent example of these components for our youth and families.
